Portfolio

This is the only image that my family has of our family in the camps. The picture is of my Auntie Setsuko (tallest in the back), and Auntie Kimi (littlest in the front). The other two children are friends of theirs. These are my grandfather's siblings that were in the camps before he was born.

Cameras were banned for internees in the camps and most photos taken of the camps were from occasional visitors. While many have little to no photos of their experience, some secretly took photos and hid them underground or in dark rooms.
